Watercolor - 9"x12" on Arches cold press paper.
Early morning, last September, I was walking the old cemetery East of the town of Lincoln, NM, (home of the Lincoln County Wars and William H. Bonney, AKA-Billy the Kid.) Most of the graves here were unmarked. This old concrete marker was un-named but looked as if someone had recently placed silk flowers at the base. Notice the nail in the cross and the interesting shadow.

A larger version of a little study that I did earlier. This is on the main street of old Lincoln, NM, home of the Lincoln County Wars and William H Bonney, AKA, Billy the Kid.
